Short version: ShutterScholar is a young product offered free while we build it. Be decent, only post photos you took, and understand that coaching advice is guidance — you're the photographer.
ShutterScholar provides photography coaching tools: settings recommendations, missions, lessons, a develop editor, critique, and a community gallery. It's in active development ("early access"), provided as-is, and features may change, break, or be reworked as it grows. We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and on-device progress can be lost if your browser clears its storage — installing the app to your home screen helps protect it.
Settings suggestions, missions, and critique (including AI-generated critique and ideas) are educational guidance, not guarantees. Shooting conditions vary; use your judgment — especially at night, near water or roads, and anywhere the missions send you. Never trespass, and put your safety above any shot.
You need to be at least 13 to submit content. If you're under 18, get a parent's, guardian's, or teacher's OK first, and use a first name or nickname for your photo credit.
Don't abuse the service: no scraping other people's photos, spamming submissions, probing or attacking the site, or using the AI features for anything other than your own photography. We may rate-limit or block abusive use.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShutterScholar is provided without warranties of any kind, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including lost photos, lost progress, or anything that happens while shooting. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.
We may update these terms as the product grows; the date above will change when we do. Continuing to use ShutterScholar after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions: hello@shutterscholar.com.
